White images – what are their characteristics?
White paintings are wall decorations in which white is the dominant color. These can be delicate graphics reminiscent of pencil sketches – transferred to canvas they will gain a noble look. They are an excellent proposition for delicate, subdued interiors.
If you are arranging a living room or other room in a romantic style, then a white picture with a minimalist motif will be its excellent complement. In such a picture, only seemingly not much happens, because the main element is a large, white background. In this case, however, less is more, because the proposed motif can be well exposed.
There are a lot of patterns you can choose from. White paintings depict various motifs – from flowers, through animals and figures, to abstract geometric figures. A perfect example is the popular pattern depicting a heron preparing for flight in four positions. Theoretically, the pattern itself occupies a small area, and the main element is a white background, but the whole decoration shows a lot – the power of nature, movement, emotions and development. This type of image can be motivating, so it is worth hanging it in a room such as an office.
White is also of great importance in abstract paintings. The background is as important an element as geometric figures or lines, because only their combination shows the dynamic and emotional charge of the pattern. This kind of white image is very often used for modern and minimalist interior decoration.
White painting – on which wall will it look good?
Do not be afraid to hang a white picture on a white wall, especially if you arrange the whole room in one tone. Monochrome rooms with white walls, bright sofas, furniture and carpets are perfectly combined with white paintings that complement the arrangement, without trying to dominate the interior.
However, you can bet on contrast and hang a white picture on a colorful wall, including the one with patterns. However, this requires a rather meticulous combination of motifs, so as to achieve an aesthetic visual effect, not an interior with a kitschy character.
White paintings are also a great way to liven up a room whose walls are too dark. If the color chosen for the wall does not look as good as in the visualizations, you can brighten the wall with white paintings.
Inspiration – white paintings for a brick wall
A fantastic example of a surface that is neither smooth nor white, and will blend perfectly with a white painting, is a red brick wall. Extremely fashionable, it is often a work of art in itself. White paintings look great on red brick walls and emphasize its character, which is why they are often used when decorating lofts or industrial interiors. It is also worth making sure that the content of the image itself refers to the style of the arrangement you want to create.
